Altemasi, literally means “from the highest Masi”, the traditional high altitude farmhouses typical of Northern Italy’ s Trentino. 

The winery is one of the finest Trento DOC, Italy’s premium Classical Method sparkling wine area made from grapes that can grow only in the mountains of this region. The tiny bubbles produced using Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes seem to give this wine its ability to draw out time itself and further complexity is added by a minimum aging of the wines of 15 months and up to 72 months for the more premium items. 

The state of the art cellar was built in 1993 and designed exclusively to produce Metodo Classico TrentoDOC sparkling wines with both traditional undergroundstorage and high tech machinery. 

Designed and built exclusively to produce Metodo Classico TRENTODOC and Metodo Charmat sparkling wines, the cellar is a single, high-tech, highly functional structure. It was built in 1993, on four levels: the lowest level underground is set aside for the ageing of TRENTODOC sparkling wines; all further processing is done on the floor above it: riddling and disgorging, while an adjacent area houses the pressurized tanks for the production of Charmat method sparkling wine. The bottling and packaging lines are located on the ground floor.
